Golf & Gourmet Experiences
Where World-Class Golf Meets Unmatched Experiences for All
Golfing holidays are a wonderful way to experience a new-to-you location, but we understand that not everyone golfs. We want to help you combine world-class golf with a wide variety of activities for non-golfing partners, as well as experiences you can share together. Imagine boarding your private seaplane for a flight over Tasmania’s West Coast wilderness to the magnificent Gordon River, where you’ll enjoy a gourmet lunch in some of the world’s most pristine forest. Or perhaps you’d prefer a scenic flight to spectacular Maria Island (yes, it’s pronounced ma-rye-ah!) for some wombat spotting and lunch.
If you’d prefer a day on the water, we can organise a private charter on a luxurious 62-foot yacht so you can sail the Derwent River and D’Entrecasteux Channel, experiencing spectacular sea cliffs, sea life, and the gateway to the Southern Ocean along the way. Tasmania is known for its produce, and a private class focused on pickling and preserving—held in a former hospital turned home in the Huon Valley—will provide a unique take-home memory of your trip. If your interests lie in natural wreath making or botanical arranging, we can facilitate that too.
The wines of Tasmania are highly regarded around the world, and you can enjoy them with the winemakers via unique cellar door experiences, such as a scenic helicopter flight to a vineyard on the banks of the D’Entrecasteaux Channel or a seaplane flight to the heart of the Derwent Valley for a tasting and a long-table lunch for up to 12 people.
All these experiences are in and around Hobart, meaning you’ll be back in time for drinks and dinner.
There is no shortage of restaurants in Hobart creating deliciously innovative food with our island’s produce, but we like sharing a few standouts with our guests and creating dining events that are unique to you. This could be an intimate dinner for 4 or 8 at one of Hobart’s most beautiful homes or an evening for a larger group at a historic estate with stunning gardens that has been in the same family for four generations. If you’d like something more casual, we can duck down a laneway for a private Mediterranean-inspired meal in the loft above an old stables building.
Looking for some culture? Depending on timing, we can organise tickets for theatre and musical performances, including a unique chance to experience a symphony orchestra unplugged and unpretentious in some surprising settings. If you’d like to extend your stay, we can organise a helicopter or yacht charter to a luxurious private island that’s all yours (along with endless oysters) or a few nights in the wild on the shores of a glacial lake or a glass pavilion on the pristine D’Entrecasteaux Channel. There’s no shortage of unique luxury accommodation in Tasmania if you know where to look—and we do.
The experiences we can add to create your one-of-a-kind Tasmanian golfing holiday are limited only by imagination (and seasonality!), and we can’t wait to discuss the opportunities with you!
Tasmania's Food Culture
Taste Tasmania’s Finest: Hidden Gems and Gourmet Delights
Having eaten all over the world - and written about it - Alix is happy to have landed in Tasmania, where incredible produce is turned into amazing meals by talented cooks and chefs. Her appetite for good food, and the people who make it, has enabled her to experience the best Tasmania has to offer and share that knowledge with others. Alix enjoys finding food experiences - from foraging to fine dining - that aren’t necessarily on the regular tourist trail. Whether you enjoy seafood plucked straight from the island’s icy waters, wild venison cooked over coals or fresh produce grown in the walled garden of a former insane asylum, Tasmania has a culinary experience to suit your tastes.
